About Platinum Golf Tours

The team

The Platinum Golf Team is a dedicated, golf-loving and service-oriented team headed by Erik Ekkelkamp and his wife Ypie Kingma.

Ypie is responsible for the putting your tours together, based on your wishes combined with her extensive knowledge of the accommodations, golf courses and ‘must see and do’ places of South Africa. She is a qualified tour guide and besides English and Dutch also speaks quite a bit of Russian.  When not touring or looking after her guests she is trying to get her handicap down to single figure – still a long way to go…

Erik  is the accountant, and the computer and internet guru. Being 2 meters tall his nickname is ‘Big E’.  Originally from The Netherlands, he grew up very close to the German border, and his German is still very impressive!  In his spare time you can find him on the golf course – where else!?

Erik and Ypie – both born and bred in The Netherlands – moved to South Africa in 1999, and have been involved in the tourism industry ever since.  Golf became their passion and together with the team of drivers and guides they love to share their passion with you!
