Gauteng

Gauteng can be forgiven for claiming to be South Africa’s ‘head office’ of golf.  This small but economically important province has produced the country’s best golfers (the likes of Bobby Locke, Gary Player and Ernie Els) and nowhere else in South Africa can one find so many really quality golf courses in such close proximity.  It was of course the discovery of gold that brought Johannesburg’s original cosmopolitan inhabitants togheter, and with them they brought the game of golf.
