What to pack

Casual, comfortable wash and wear clothing is most useful. Jackets and ties may be required in city hotel restaurants and golf clubs. Most accommodation establishments offer a laundry service, usually within the same day. It is certainly not necessary to bring a separate change of clothing for each day and evening, and it is recommended that you keep luggage to a minimum for your own comfort and ease of transport, especially if you are using light aircraft transfers.

The most practical items to pack for your South African golfing holiday are:

(Golf) shorts & cotton golf shirts

Golf shoes – most golf courses allow soft spikes only

(Golf) socks – most courses do not allow ’secret socks’ for men

Cap or peak for playing golf; hat or cap for during the day

Bathing costume

Comfortable walking shoes

Casual lightweight cotton, khaki or neutral colored clothes for game drives and safari

Fleece or sweater and a warm jacket for game drives or cool evenings

Personal toiletries, sun creams and lip balsam

Anti-malaria prophylactics (if going to malarial areas)

Binoculars, camera and accessories

Sunglasses

Should you go on light aircrafts please make sure you have soft luggage bags for that stretch of your journey as the luggage compartments in these plane are usually not suited for hard-cover suitcases.
